Can you tell the difference between the past, present and future

projections are not traction

I was really excited about a startup that presented today.

They have almost 5,000 corporate clients.

In the unfunded year they have been running, that is impressive traction.

But no.

Unfortunately, the actual number is zero.

That 5,000 corporate clients was a projection. Based on no data. Funnel size zero. Actually, there isn’t even an excel sheet of prospective leads.

I felt tricked.

They got a second conversation.

They won’t get a third.

Ever.
