Value through Aggregation

Many of us are familiar with the idea of rollup IPO's where many similar small businesses are “rolled up” into one BIG business that commands a much large multiple because of its size.

The idea is more generally applicable, though I hadn't given it much thought.

One phone number becomes a phone book.

One resume becomes LinkedIn (or something like that).

I applaud how many individual discard books became one library. Earlier stories that I had read wrongly suggested that this was the work of one person rather than be the organized collective effort of a team of trash collectors.

Today's , , and admiration go out to Serhat Baytemur and his colleagues for creating a wonderful, actively used, high valuable library out of less than nothing.
