Using ChatGPT to reduce your creativity and effectiveness

Making cold calls even colder

I got seven different outreach messages on LinkedIn from seven different people (that I didn’t know) representing seven different companies (that I had never heard of), offering seven different services (that it should be evident that I don’t need).

Based on their profiles, several of the people are not native English speakers and, at a glance, don’t use idiomatic English.

Despite this, there was an awful lot in common among the seven.

(Yes, awful is the word that comes to mind.)

So much so that I would suspect a ghostwriter.

But I expect that a human ghostwriter wouldn’t have this level of pointless consistency.

I suspect ChatGPT or perhaps some other Large Language Model.

I know that one of the common concerns is that AI systems write specially individualized convincing emails.

Perhaps not this week.

In his work within federal agency, he was often called, “the arbiter of truth,” facilitating historically hostile groups and factions to effectively work together towards common goals
