Please Let Me Know How You Can Support Me

I got a request this morning from a asking me to let them know how I can support them.

I have no idea what their plan is, where they are on it, or what obstacles they are trying to overcome.

I can best support you by helping you to ask better .

At first I thought there could only one answer, “I can best support you by helping you to ask better questions.”

But then I looked back in my notes. Six weeks ago, I had told him that there was one particular issue in his business plan that gave me pause. Sufficient pause that until it was resolved, I couldn't make any , or encourage him to put any additional time, attention or other resources into his project. I hadn't heard from him since then.

So in fact I can do better. I can best support him by reminding him of that. Perhaps by resending the recording of our zoom session where we spent the entire hour talking about this one issue.

Or perhaps I can send him a copy of How to Be a High School Superstar by Cal Newport. It has patient instructions on this targeted at typical 16 year olds.
