A few weeks ago, I achieved Inbox Zero.
And now I re-achieved Inbox 300.
Getting from zero to 300 is much, much, much easier than getting from 300 to zero.
If only I could honestly say “I trust you,” to my to-do list.
Should this make me believe in non-conservative fields? After all, friction is the most common ingredient of non-conservative fields and I seem to be finding plenty of friction around my inbox.
But somehow, even with all the friction, it isn’t enough to keep my hands warm in a northern California winter. This seems unfair to me.
As best I can tell, the “secret” of my being able to have Inbox Zero is to be able to move things from an inbox to a “To-do List” or similar structure and to have faith in that structure. As I stopped reliably checking my to-do list, I became progressively less able to move things out of the inbox.
But first my to-do list has to be able to say “I trust you,” to me
Yes, faith in to-do lists is the key to Inbox Zero.
I lost my faith.
And my inbox exploded.
If only I could say “I trust you,” to my to-do list.
But I imagine first my to-do list has to be able to say “I trust you,” to me.

Will it ever end?!
